romantic prairie skies, glassy waters, and the subtle beauty of ordinary places.

I’m Vanessa Anderson, an atmospheric landscape artist, explorer, and old soul based in the Canadian prairies.

I marvel at the way the same roads I walk every day can be transformed by the light, weather, and seasons. Places that have become familiar, even ordinary, hold extraordinary beauty when you look closely enough.

I create because I was first created, and painting is where my attention shifts beyond myself, heavenward. I want my paintings to hold some of the wonder, peace, and meaning I encounter in the landscapes around me, and invite others to feel something too. My hope is to not only make my work lifelike, but to make it feel alive.
